Change or modify habits / behavior
Oxford Dictionary defines habits as “a settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up.” Our habits affect how we act and our behavior. These behaviors become automatic routines, unconsciously performed in response to triggers in our daily life. The challenge lies in eliminating detrimental habits while cultivating beneficial habits, something we all know and have dealt with in our lives.
Coaching can assist in cultivating better habits and desired behaviors that align with your vision of your best self. For example, increasing self-discipline, improving listening skills, employing healthy communication styles, utilizing better time management, and creating a healthier lifestyle are just a few of many areas that coaching can postivitly impact. In addition, coaching can help create awareness around detrimental habits and identify triggers that lead to automatic responses or routines while supporting the creation of small, incremental action steps to overcome these negative tendencies.
Our character is a composite of our habits. Because they are consistent, often unconscious patterns, they constantly, daily, express our character. — Stephen Covey, Author “The Seven Habits of Highly Successful People”
